Universal Pictures just released the long awaited trailer to the film The Bourne Legacy. The movie was directed by Tony Gilroy and stars Jeremy Renner as the new character in the franchise. It also stars Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Albert Finney, Joan Allen, Scott Glenn, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac.
I like the whole set up of this trailer. It lets you know from the get go that this story is not about Jason Bourne, it has ties to it. The catch phrase on the poster and trailer is plain and simple, “There was never just one.” From what I’ve seen in the trailer, it looks promising. I’m interested to see where this film will go. The Bourne franchise was uber successful, lets hope it keeps up as a new story unfolds.
Here’s the Synopsis:
The narrative architect behind the Bourne film series, Tony Gilroy, takes the helm in the next chapter of the hugely popular espionage franchise that has earned almost $1 billion at the global box office: The Bourne Legacy. The writer/director expands the Bourne universe created by Robert Ludlum with an original story that introduces us to a new hero (Jeremy Renner) whose life-or-death stakes have been triggered by the events of the first three films. For The Bourne Legacy, Renner joins fellow series newcomers Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac, while franchise veterans Albert Finney, Joan Allen, David Strathairn and Scott Glenn reprise their roles.
The film hits theaters on August 3rd, 2012. Watch the trailer now and tell us what you think!
